Worship Ministry... At FBC, we believe worship is the act of knowing and loving God in spirit and in truth (John 4: 23) The essence of worship is recognizing the Almighty God of heaven and earth and responding to Him with praise and adoration.
Our weekly worship services are uplifting as our worship leader, John Lovett, selects music that points us to Jesus. Our pastor, Steve Black, challenges us with inspiring sermons! God is blessing our Pastor's Ministry! (See Weekly Schedule).
Sunday School / Bible Study Ministry... God has provided the BIBLE as the authoritative written revelation of Himself to humanity. The apostle Paul reminded believers through his words to Timothy that the scriptures "are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
Our FBC Bible study is every Sunday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. We have a class for each member of every family, and our teachers are caring and prepared to share God's Word with their students.
Crescent CARE Ministry... At FBCC, we are very excited about this Ministry! This ministry is a well-organized effort to bring many VOLUNTEERS together, to SERVE both our church and community with compassion, care, and assistance, and to help people when they are really in need of a loving hand and heart, and to try to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in their lives! The CARE MINISTRY theme is...
"Dedicated to Caring ... Committed to Service"
The Crescent CARE Ministry includes:
- PRAYER TEAMS , who regularly pray for those with physical and spiritual needs, such as illness or grief and other special needs.
- SENDING CARDS - each week to those who are absent, ill, homebound, or in special need of a caring and loving word.
- CD MINISTRY - pastor's sermon CD's are shared each week with Senior Adults who are homebound or in Nursing Homes. Other special recordings are also shared.
- HELPING HANDS - special projects by both men & women of our church to help families in need with home and yard projects, which may require both skilled persons and equipment.
Music Ministry... Praise and worship through music is a dynamic and integral part of our worship at First Baptist Church, as the Bible tells us that "God delights in the praises of His people". Musical opportunities are available for ensembles and soloists, choirs and other singing opportunities are available for all ages. Special musical productions are presented by various groups throughout the year, under the capable leadership of John Lovett, Minister of Music/Youth.
Our Adult Choir rehearses on Sunday evenings at 7:00 p.m. following the evening worship service.
Choir participation provides: an outlet of joy and fulfillment, away from your daily stress; a spiritual
refueling through the texts of the songs; a bonding time of fellowship with other believers; and a standard of excellence, which requires singing with your heart, not just your voice.
Missions Ministry... Our mission at FBC Crescent is the Great Commission. We are here to share the joy of Christian love and to help solve the deepest human problems with the Truth of Jesus Christ.
The story of Missions is taught to every child, youth and adult at every opporunity. Some of our Adults have participated in various Mission trips around the country, building churches and sharing the good news of Christ.
Members from our church have also helped with disaster projects, such helping flood, hurricane
and tornado victims, along with other Oklahoma Baptists. A good number of our men are trained and certified as a Disaster Team.
Our Adult 4 Sunday School Class organizes and pays shipping postage to send RECYCLED SUNDAY SCHOOL LITERATURE to a young and growing Baptist church in Colorado - every three months.
